Bill Poss (Passalacqua) is a songwriter and performer from Effingham, IL who toured North America for two decades - first solo, then with the Ginn Sisters and Fred Eaglesmith. Since moving home to Effingham, IL in 2013, he founded the Moccasin Creek Festival and Poss Music Works NFP. www.possmusicworks.com

He continues to write songs and book gigs for himself, his duo with his wife JJ LoveSeat and his 5 piece Americana outfit Bill Poss and the Useful Tools. He brings all these acts together in Bill Poss and the Useful Tools, A Variety Show. He also teaches songs to kids as Mr. Bill, and performs to a wide variety of audiences from children to retirees. 

Comfortable standing my himself, telling stories and performing a riveting folk set, or rocking out with his five piece band, Bill Poss cuts a wide path, shifting easily from folk and bluegrass to country and rock. His years on the road have provided him with great fodder for his songs and his stories.

His most recent album is LoveSeat "Our Way" with his wife JJ, released in April of 2025. It made top 50 appearances on the FolkDJ and Alt Country Charts. Reviews have come in from all over the US and Europe. 

Bill Poss has 6 records and a book, the Bill Poss Travelogue, to his name. The most recent BPUT album is Saltwater  was recorded in Lawrence, KS in 2014. It's available on vinyl and CD. His first three CDs, Reckless Pedestrian, Jack Rabbit and Other Love Songs and Long Way Home, recorded in Austin from 1999-2003 under his full given name, Bill Passalacqua, have just been rereleased as a 2 CD set. It's called Bill Poss: The Early Years as Bill Passalacqua. All of his albums are available now in the ‘Store’ and on streaming platforms.
